Rah-e Teryak (Opium Road): A Local Route near Keshanak
Rah-e Teryak is a local name given to a dirt route in the vicinity of Keshanak village. The name has been familiar to local residents for many years and continues to be used when referring to the route. According to local oral tradition, the name originated during the Pahlavi era, when poppies were cultivated in the lands surrounding the route. This historical association is said to have led to the local use of the name “Rah-e Teryak,” meaning “Opium Road.”
